This very beautiful Louis XVI style fireplace in white Carrara marble was made during the 19th century.
This fireplace is characterized by a great richness but also a great finesse in the carved decors, finesse allowed by the Carrara marble.
The lintel consists of a frieze carved with all-round encircled natural rosettes. The one that adorns the center is more imposing and has a more pronounced relief. At the ends of the frieze are two rosettes in a square case. Large oak leaves fall on the jambs. This taste for nature is faithful to the bucolic spirit of the time.
The details are remarkably delicate and precise, as shown by the pearls and interlaced ribbons that decorate the frieze and the legs.
This fireplace is sold with its original cast iron insert but without any marble floor. This one could be made to order.
