This fireplace stands out for its rich decor, which is caused in part by the blend of black marble and Vert de Mer marble. Vert de Mer is a green marble, here with white veins reminiscent of sea waves. This marble was quarried mainly in the Genoa region of the Alps. In contrast, the fine, homogeneously black marble highlights the Vert de Mer.

The richness of this fireplace’s decor is not only from the materials used but also from the motifs employed. The band is rectilinear. It is decorated with rounded end moldings and a central figure. This central figure is framed in a rectangle with scrolls at the corners. Within this rectangle, Vert de Mer marble is framed by moldings. On either side of the rectangle, spades are carved in Vert de Mer marble.
The fireplace’s legs feature several geometrical motifs, such as those on the top or sides of the leg. Or a geometry playing with rectilinear lines. The top of the leg is composed of these motifs, and the spade motif is also repeated, this time pointing downwards. At the bottom of the leg, we find a multitude of moldings and small friezes in relief, again with this mix of marbles accentuating the different volumes on the leg.

This fireplace is sold without any fireplace insert nor marble floor but could be made to order (please ask for marble availability).
