This pair of Japanese firedogs is a superb work from the late 19th century.
Made in polished varnished bronze, they depict two beautiful Foo dogs in front of a ball with Japanese open worked motifs. They rest on a base taking the same stylized motifs. The carving is remarkable and shows the know-how of its creator.
