This exceptionnal Louis XIV style set is composed of a fireplace and a console table made at the end of the 19th century in Campan marble. The sculptor attentive to the detail, has sculpted this two elements in a way that the marble's veins would be in the same direction and that especially the main one would cross them at the same place.
The fireplace shows a decor characteristic of the Louis XIV style. It is surmounted by a fluted acroterion adorned on its center with a medallion in an acanthus leaves decor. The copper insert with arabesques decoration is frames by a Bolection.
The important console table is composed of a slab put on upside down console feet adorned with scrolls and reunited by a deck. It is surmounted by a pediment of which the corners are decorated with triglyphs and scrolls. This type of element is to be related with hunting tables of the important castles or dessert trolley in the private mension.
More pictures of the fireplace are available ref. 4353.
