André-Charles BOULLE (1642 - 1732) (after), Mazarin Chandelier with eight lights in gilt bronze

Status:
In very good condition.

Chandelier “ Mazarin ” in gilt bronze with eight lights in the form of lanterns in molded glass. The bronze ornaments in forme of : putti crowned with raisins, godrons, florets, acanthus, scrollwork, quiver and arrows.

This chandelier is after a model made by André-Charles Boulle (1642 - 1732), currently in the Louvre museum collections.
This great artist was the cabinetmaker, founder, sculptor, gilder and designer of the Sun King, Louis XIV. He also designed the “ Mazarin ” desk, in reference of the former Prime Minister of Louis XIV.
