Excellent condition. Only the wood boards surrounding the marble hearth floor are missing.

Complete paneled room from an oak guard room with very high ceilings. The ceiling is coffered, divided in three equal sections, flanked by coffered beams adorned with paneling. Each section bears a frame for a canvas surrounded by molded rectangular paneling that curve according to the composition. The central section centers on a large oval frame, with agraffes on four sides, and a richly carved molding of laurel leaves – the surrounding rectangular paneling curves to embrace the central motif and complete the composition. The sections on either side have large central rectangular panels with a rounded molding, which curves on either end to accommodate a generous rosette. The bottom half of the very high walls are covered with oak paneling adorned with a sober décor of horizontal palms and cartouches and vertical margents. The verticals rise up to the ceiling creating a vertical rhythm around the room and frames for canvases. An imposing fireplace mantel follows the same design, bearing a generous carved cartouche on the lintel, margents on the jambs and a full cast iron insert adorned with fleur-de-lys. The cartouche of the fireback echoes the one on the entablature. A three colored marble hearth floor, spans the floor before the mantel jambs, and fits perfectly into the alternating oblique and square motifs of the Versailles parquet. There are two windows and a hidden door. A very solid and beautiful craftsmanship.
