Trumeau mirror for a fireplace overmantel that has an elaborate decoration of carved and gilded wood, in the Louis XVI style and from the 19th century. The moulding of the frame is decorated with a frieze of ribbons crisscrossing oblong rosettes and a second frieze, of pearls. The pediment, has a trophy shaped center piece, the arms have been replaced with the face of a young woman, with both braided and tied back hair. Hanging from her fqce, are garlands of flowers and ribbons. Hanging roses, egg-and-dart features, and greek features complete the the Antiquity appearance of this trumeau mirror.
