This pair of caryatids in carved and painted wood dates back to the 18th century. Revisiting the antique votive statues and the grotesques of the Renaissance , their aesthetics testify to an attraction for the ancient mysteries. The forehead of the two caryatids is girded with a diadem, and their elongated bust is gradually transformed into baskets of flowers and fruits, like allegories of the nourishing nature. The slender feet are adorned with flowers and acanthus leaves.
