In very good condition. Aged patina. The mantel top is cut because of the old chimney flue.
This antique Neo-Renaissance style fireplace was made in the 19th century in oak, darkened wood very popular among the creators of the Neo-Renaissance style. The jambs consists of Corinthian columns. They support a frieze richly decorated with foliage, characteristic patterns of the Renaissance, with in its center two young men supporting coat of arms. On the mantel top, a painting represents two putti. On both sides, a caryatid and an Atlantean are carved in high relief in the wood.
This fireplace is sold without any fireplace insert but could be made to order.
