Large antique mahogany fireplace made during the 19th century. The console shaped jambs support a thick entablature carved with an egg and dart frieze and acanthus leaves. The jambs support an exquisite carved décor: sculpted lions' heads rest on the deeply projecting scrolls of the consoles. The consoles are decorated scalloped garlands and vegetal decoration. The eclecticism of the carved decor of this beautiful fireplace is very typical of the Napoleon III style.
