In its original state. The patina can be worked on to match sides and front.
Louis XV period stone mantel with central shell set against recessed panels that follow the elegant curves of the hearth opening. The lintel rests on a pair of filleted and fluted jambs covered with a flap design adorned with passementerie and a drop bell flower. The sides are new made in the same stone.
The stone sides were redone.
