Rare Regence style mantel made in stone in the 18th century. It is an unusual model with its refined curved shape. The thin canted jambs are like pilasters with a baseboard and a capital. The front of the entablature, with many protruding elements, is adorned in the middle with a flower-covered shell flanked with a pair of volutes. The shelf supports a large paneled overmantel , which bears a shell motif. With the mantel, comes a very beautiful cast iron insert with a décor of people set in Rococo frames.
This mantel can be sold with its original paneled room, ref. 9670.
