This beautiful mantel was made in the 18th century in Royal Red marble, it shows a remarkale sculpted decoration.
Its animated lines are characteristic of the Louis XV taste and style. We find on the serpentine entablature, a beautiful stylized shell in a rich acanthus leaves surrounding. The entablature is underlined by an oblong moulding which runs along the jambs. These latters, also curved, receive on their upper parts impresive sculpted Rococo motifs.
This fireplace is sold without any fireplace insert but with its marble floor.
