This very beautiful antique Directoire style fireplace is made out of Blue Turquin marble with inlays of Statuary Carrara marble. This fireplace was made at the start of the 19th century. The centre of the entablature features an antique vase with floral wreaths, carved in high relief and incrusted in Statuary marble. The jambs are also incrusted in Statuary marble, and are curved and fluted. The heads of the jambs are decorated with the profiles of women set in medallions.
This fireplace is sold without any fireplace insert nor marble floor.
