This Louis XVI-style mantelpiece with its beautiful polychrome ornamentation was carved in Turquin marble in the 19th century.
The straight, soberly molded lintel is framed by a gilded bronze flower. Two other identical flowers crown the jambs, creating a harmonious chromatic alternation between blue marble and gilded bronze. Each jamb is in the form of a pilaster, adorned with fluting with grooving at the bottom. The sobriety of the ornamentation is underlined by the ornamentation of the plaque, featuring soft, leafy scrolls.
This fireplace is sold with its original cast iron insert and with its marble floor, which is broken but will be restored in our workshop.
