This Louis XVI style mantelpiece was carved in Bleu Fleuri marble in the 19th century. The center of its lintel is adorned with an oval; on either side it is simply molded, as are the slightly protruding dice. Below a cornice, the jambs start in a straight line and are interrupted by an inward curving scroll, decorated with small circular motifs at the top. The base of the scroll flares out above the base. The very decorative aspect of the marble and its veins is enhanced by the sobriety of the ornamentation.
This mantel has no florr neither cast iron inseert.
