Good condition. The mantel is being cleaned in our workshop. New pictures will be put on line soon.
Louis XVI style mantel in white veined marble from the 19th century. The straight jambs are slightly tapered fluted pilasters, with deep regular flutes, filleted below. The slightly protruding entablature presents a central fluted and filleted panel flanked by finely recessed molded rectangular frames, while the slightly recessed heads are adorned with the same fluted motif of the entablature and the jambs. The decoration and choice of marble is typical of the Louis XVI style. The decorative palette used here is inspired by Antiquity and confers delicacy and harmony to the composition.
