This beautiful and delicate antique fireplace was made out of Bleu Turquin marble with statuary Carrara marble inlays. Cabochons carved with putti decorate the frieze which is enhanced by a fine molding made out of Statuary marble.
The jambs are also enhanced with Statuary marble flutes on their front and sides.
Pierre Ferret was born in 1877 and was an architect in Bordeaux. Around 1910, he built his house at 80 Avenue Carnot in Bordeaux, a place that was both his home and his workshop. Designed by himself, Ferret Hotel was fully furnished and decorated by Pierre Ferret.
This fireplace is sold with its original marble floor which is stained. The original enameled insert is not available but could be made to order.
