Louis XVI style fireplace with curved corners and square rosettes on the heads, which are emblematic to the style. This fireplace is typical of those made during this period in that it follows the Antiquity style. Its pure lines resonate with the purity of the white semi-statuary marble. The fluted pilasters highly represent this Antiquity style. Yet the filleting at the lower part of the fluted pilasters seems to follow the ornamental style of Louis XV. The entablature is decorated with a rectangular moulded panel, filled with a ribbon frieze, sheltering rosettes. The décor of the cast iron insert stands out with its blacksmith putto and bold foliage motifs.
