This beautiful antique fireplace comes from the Mansion of the architect Pierre Ferret in Bordeaux (South of France). Made in an Arabescato marble in the early 20th century, this fireplace features straight lines inherited from the Louis XVI style. The legs are fluted and carved with asparagus heads placed in the upper part. The center of the frieze is decorated with a square format cartridge, carved with a flower finely represented. The frieze is underlines with a frieze of palmettes that unfolds on the sides of the fireplace.
Pierre Ferret was born in 1877 and was an architect from Bordeaux. Around 1910, he built his house at 80 Avenue Carnot in Bordeaux, a place that was both his home and his workshop. Designed by himself, Ferret Hotel was fully furnished and decorated by Pierre Ferret.

This fireplace is sold with its original three square marble floor but without any fireplace insert.
