This antique Louis XVI style fireplace was made circa 1900. It comes from the house of Pierre Ferret, architect, in Bordeaux, south of France. This fireplace is made out of Pink marble from the Pyrenees with Carrara Statuary inlaid friezes.
Pierre Ferret was born in 1877 and was an architect in Bordeaux. Around 1910, he built his house at 80 Avenue Carnot in Bordeaux, a place that was both his home and his workshop. Designed by himself, Ferret Hotel was fully furnished and decorated by Pierre Ferret.
This fireplace is sold with its original marble floor but without any fireplace insert.
