François Linke (1855-1946) was the most popular French furniture manufacturer from the end of the 19th century until the eve of the Second World War, revealed at the 1900 Exhibition. It is well known for its extremely luxurious furniture, where wood and gilded bronze enhance each other. A cabinetmaker of Czech origin, Linke arrived in Paris in 1875 and opened a shop in the suburb of Saint-Antoine in 1881, which was visited by several sovereigns and personalities from all over the world: the King of Sweden, the King of Belgium, the rich American heiress Anna Gould and Prince Radziwill.
