This monumental double wrought iron door is richly ornate in the elaborate taste of the Napoleon III style. With a symmetrical composition, a series of doubled and tripled loops and curves combine to create a dance like scroll effect. A frieze of inverted heart-shape scrolls runs across the arch above the door.
The forms used follow the alphabet of the classical model however the soft almost plant like curves announce the arabesques and whimsical shapes of the Art Nouveau style.
A rare piece with its arched lines, this large entry door brings to life the grandeur of Second Empire and Belle Epoque dwellings in France.
This double door can be used for the entrance of a building. The back of the door is doubled with glass panes that protect from rain and weather.
