This type of Orientalist work of art was in vogue around 1860. This clock, featuring a porcelain dial and relief enamels, is attributed to Sèvres Manufactory. It is flanked with two children playing double aulos.
The clock supports a beautiful porcelain vase mounted with gilt bronze and decorative palm-leaf motifs.
The feet are shaped like stylized lion bodies and set on circular bases, also made of enameled porcelain.
The clock is framed with two matching three-light candelabras adorned with little gilt bronze chains.
