Large and colourful stained glass window from the Thomas Vitraux workshop, founded in 1878, in Valence. The know-how of Thomas was transmitted from father to son and the company is still active today. This Art nouveau influenced work depicts Diana Huntress, with her bow and dogs walking though the forest. It is signed and dated 1915. Using a large variety of color and types of glass work, this painting expresses a lot of strength and vitality.
Diana the Huntress is a mythical figure who would travel from her home on Mount Olympus at the order of her father Zeus, king of the gods, to fight evil and defend the weak. Anyone who found one of her arrows could also summon her aid.
