Antique cabochon floor from the 18th century, stone and slate
Dimensions
Origin:
18th century.
Status:
Good general condition.
Antique cabochons floor from the 18th century made of octagonal slabs made out of stone and slate cabochons. With its aged patina.
Under Louis XV and the Regence styles, the paving of cabochons is very popular, and is especially used in chateaux and town houses and is a sign of luxury and sophistication. The harmony that emerges from this paving is due to the fair value of proportion and balance in the use of octagonal squares and cabochons.
There are 9 square meters available, in good condition. We can add about 3 square meters from the same provenance with half slabs or broken slabs (but there is not enough slate cabochons).
