Great and rare antique Japanese style fireplace made out of carved walnut during the late 19th century. The realization of this beautiful fireplace is attributed to the Maison des Bambous by Perret and Vibert.
The lower part of the mantel has an architectural form with pilasters and bases. The decor consists of both engraving and sculpture in low relief on the walnut wood (geometric patterns and cherry branches) and mother of pearl inlay, which is characteristical of Japonism .
The upper part of the fireplace is designed as a pagoda roof: the big mirror is framed of wood and tapestry motifs and is crowned by the typical form of Chinese and Japanese architectures.

This fireplace is sold with its original copper insert.
