This monumental mantel was realized with stone around 1905 in a Neo-Renaissance style.
The jambs are sculpted as detached columns with Composite capitals, order from the Roman Antiquity, mixing the scrolls of the Ionic order and the acanthus leaves of the Corinthian order. These fluted columns are holding hight relief sculptures of musicians in shells. The entablature is adorned with a frieze of scrolls inhabited with acanthus leaves and horns of plenty that is framing two small angels holding the County of Horne’s coat of arms, with three hunting horns.
The mantel extractor is adorned on the center with a bas relief framed by a scrolls frieze, on which is depicting a boar hunting scene. On each sides, are two pilasters with scrolls and acanthus leaves, richly adorned with a sculpted decoration of grotesques, very famous during the Renaissance after the discovery of the Antic ruins and especially the painted decor of the Domus Aurea.

The mantel interior is composed of terra cotta slabs depicting heraldic motif such as monograms or coat of arms like the two-headed eagle of Russia.
