This Louis XV style onyx mantel with three shells was carved in the second half of the 19th century. The entablature is adorned with a large shell. The hearth opening is underlined by a continuous molding. Resting on square bases, the curved console shaped jambs are topped with upside down shells.
This fireplace is sold with a modern cast iron insert approximately adapted to this fireplace but without any marble floor. This one could be made to order (please ask for marble availability).
