This very beautiful antique Napoleon III style fireplace comes from the mansion designed by the architect Pierre Ferret in Bordeaux. Made out of rare Campan Grand Mélange marble, a sought-after marble because of its decorative qualities, this antique fireplace is decorated with gilded bronze lions' heads. The entablature and the curved jambs are enhanced by a frieze of gilded bronze pearls. Pierre Ferret was a bordelais architect born in 1877. Around 1910, he built his own mansion at 80 avenue Carnot in Bordeaux, which at times he used as a residence and at others as a workshop. Designed by himself, the mansion was also entirely furnished and decorated by himself.

This fireplace is sold without any fireplace insert but with its original marble floor which is broken but will be restored in our workshop.
