This rare Louis XVI style fireplace was made in the 19th century in white veined marble called Breccia Corallina Nuvolata.

A bow fronted entablature carved with a fluted frize, is framed on each sides by two dice with flowers richly carved. The upper part is supported on scrolled angled carved jambs, embellished by an acanthus leaf.

The original cast iron insert has a nice brown patina. The center is ornamented with a putto holding his bow and arrow ; on each sides two girls are dancing to the sound of a tambourine and castanets. The lower part of their bodies is made of acanthus leaf. Those characters are topped by flower garlands supported by doves.

This fireplace is sold with its original cast iron insert, but without marble floor. It can be made to order, depending of the availability of the marble.
