A very rare type of Saint Maximin marble enhances the architectural design of this antique fireplace from the mid 19th century. Typical of the Capucine model, the composition is dominated by straight lines with straight jambs supporting a plain entablature. But here the jambs are fluted pilasters rising to capitals, which are adorned with diamond carved squares. The front is carved with molded panels. A recessed frame surrounds the hearth opening.
This fireplace is sold without any insert nor marble floor, but they can be made to order.
