This Louis XVI style fireplace was made during the 19th century in Carrara marble. This fireplace with straight lines is typical of the Louis XVI style, as are the sculpted patterns. The oak leaves drops down over the top of the jambs. They support a frieze decorated with Louis XVI style patterns: two spread laurel branches are tied in the center. At the ends, two square rosettes are carved. The bucolic references are typical of the 18th century.
This fireplace is sold with a modern cast iron insert adapted to this fireplace and with its original three squares marble floor.
