This antique fireback was made in the late 18th century. Three fleur-de-lis are represented in a circle with many sunrays while a turbulent scene takes place in the lower part. There is a lion, a crown, an eagle and a figure among flags. Henri Carpentier's work, Les plaques de cheminée tells us that thanks to a copy belonging to Dr. Coliez, in Longwy, where the scene stands out more clearly, it would be an allegory representing the victories of Louis XIV, the Sun King, over Austria and Holland.
