Antique cast iron fireback with Lorraine coat of arms from the Cousance Foundry

This beautiful antique Louis XIV style cast iron fireback was made in the second part of the 19th century. The Lorraine coat of arms is represented in the center. The fireback is signed "De Cousance".
The history says that firebacks were invented in the Cousance foundry where the first blast furnace was constructed in 1553.
