Made in gilded bronze in the 19th century, this firescreen has the scrolled lines and the acanthus leaf and rocaille decoration characteristic of the Louis XV style. The acanthus leaf decoration on top of the screen is asymmetrical and slightly to the right, counterbalancing the acanthus leaf motif in the centre which runs to the left.
