This gilt bronze firescreen was made in the 19th century. It rests on four legs and has a handle.
A Louis XV style ornamentation decorates this item ; thus, it is framed with shaped acanthus and flowers, and in the center of the composition, two putti are trying to reach a rose.
Such firescreens were sold by Charles Mannheim in 1892 : for example a firescreen « decorated with foliage » and another with « attributes of love », mentionned in the sale Catalogue d'un beau mobilier époques et styles Renaissance et XVIIIe siècle..., bronzes d'art et d'ameublement..., pendules Louis XIV et Louis XV..., tentures, tapisseries... / [expert] A.
