Beautiful walnut credenza carved in the Neo-Renaissance style, opening on the facade with two doors each decorated with a gentleman's or lady's profile.
The upper part with two doors rests on a wide apron containing two drawers whose fronts are decorated with carved stylized pikes framed by columns. These two registers are clearly separated by mouldings.
Resting on square-section legs, the rectangular moulded base supports two fluted columns surmounted by Corinthian capitals. The bottom of the lower part is divided into two panels.
The purpose of this type of furniture could be very diverse. Most often, it was intended to present precious objects that could illustrate the social status of its owner in the eyes of its visitors.
